A Way to Remember

Oh, how shall we remember?
Oh, how shall we honor?
Those, great deeds of the past,
Which are how we came to be,
That which, we are today.

Take out that old flag,
That grand old flag,
The one, we honor, so well,
And if it’s a great day
Run it all the way to the top.

Or, if it is a sad day,
A day to mourn our dead.
A day of remembrance,
Then take it out, and put
It halfway up the staff.
