Celtic Myths/Vampires: baobhan sith (Scottish)

Baobhan sith are vampiric Scottish faeries who appear as beautiful young women dressed in green.  The beautiful baobhan sith approach the men and dances with them until they are intoxicated by the mysterious music and exhausted from dancing"Baobhan sith" is a Scottish Highland term for banshee (or bean sidhe in Irish Gaelic), and usually considered to be a dangerous and evil succubi, as well as a vampire.

According to legend, baobhan sith are especially attracted to hunters (possibly because their clothes contain the smell of blood), and to young men who are out after dark. The beautiful baobhan sith approach the men and dance with them until they are intoxicated by the mysterious music and exhausted from dancing; the baobhan sith then feed upon them, that is, sucking their blood, until death.

There is only one repellant to baobhan sith, iron. Hunters on horses who become surround by baobhan sith can usually ward them off if they stay on their horses. However, the beauty of the baobhan sith is usually to hard to resist, and once the men are away from the iron, they become vulnerable.
