how do you enjoy the sun?

i complain of wrecked cars
poverty and greed
and in the act
say things i meant
things i hadn't known i knew
how i wreck me life
to keep the guilt
of enjoying it away

how can one enjoy prosperity
when you took the life away
the income
of a family
repeatedly

and now
you want joy
and games
and freedom
but your soul wont give it to you

so you gain a few quid
you wreck your car
you have a night out
you stay in pain

your illness never ceases
eases
'til you pay this debt
an unpayable one

how
do you enjoy the sun?
