That Golden Moment
—by Gardiner M. Weir
Like candle flame in catacombs
Your smile lights up my night
And warms the heart despair entombs
And robs of all delight.Deep in a self-dug mental grave,
No window to the sky,
Where demons roam, my soul deprave,
My thoughts enfettered cry.But you were there with sparkling smile
To cut the bonds that bind,
Release my soul with love and guile
And heal my tortured mind. That golden moment in my life
Brought change for evermore.
My path now set to drum and fife
Where rain will never pour.So dance with me where blossoms fall,
Where sunrise lasts all day,
And music chants its festive call
To pleasure life as children may.
