Love's Spell

If you take a pink candle
Sprinkle in salt of the earth and ginger
Carve the name in just so
And beckon the Goddess to your aid
Then the name in the wax
Shall be yours when the candle has burned out
Incantations
Rituals
Clipped bits of hair in the wax
Could it make love?
I watched
But I only saw a flame
Not making love
Making pain
Burning that pink rose candle
Burning, burning, burning it into
Nothing

I only know…
the pain takes away the anger
to express takes away the pain.
