The Mermaid (Murdhuacha)
he Irish word for Mermaid is murdhuacha, usually translated as merrow.

Merrows have been depicted with both fish tails or legs. They are thought have green hair and green teeth, short arms, and webbed feet and finger.

Murdhuachacan shape-shift, and may appear to be very beautiful, or even appear on land as cattle.

Murdhuacha (similar to Homer's Sirens) have beautiful, enchanting voices, that once heard can never be forgotten and that can lure humans to a death by drowning.  See Also: The Seal People.
