Dear Queen
by The Wandering Bard

Dear Queen I write to you because
Many proclaim what a great lady you are
And I thought you might for a moment pause
To help me in removing my ancient scar
Sure it was given to me by your great grandsire
But he’s long in Heaven, or burnin’ in Hell’s fire

Parents teach their children: Ladies don’t take
Things that do not belong to them
For in so doing their Lady Status they forsake
Now I don’t question your status on a mere whim
For if you look west, you’ll see your hands
Are holdin’ parts of other people’s lands

If the queen, the land and her people are one
Then you’ve been behavin’ quite bad
Me and mine with you are anxious to be done
And the sight of your departing arse would make us glad
The Good Book says, “Love thy neighbor,”
so I’ll say with a grin
Godspeed back where you belong, Love Erin
